From January 2027, each SQE1 Functioning Legal Knowledge assessment has 170 single best answer questions, sat in two sessions of 85. Frequently asked questions
When will LexRoute courses open?
SQE1 courses open for enrolment soon, at genuine founding prices. Join the early-access list and we will email you as soon as enrolment opens.
Will I need the full 12 months to finish the course?
Probably not. The 12 months is there for flexibility, not as a target. You set your exam date and the hours you can study each week, and your study plan fits the course into that time. Candidates studying full-time can finish much sooner; those studying around work can spread it out.
How many mock sessions are there, and how long is each one?
There are 40 timed mock sessions of 85 questions each: the length of one SQE1 exam session from January 2027. That is 3,400 mock questions, equivalent in question volume to 10 complete SQE1 sittings (a complete sitting is 340 questions: 170 for FLK1 and 170 for FLK2). Sit them timed, at about 2 hours 33 minutes, to build pacing and stamina, or untimed while you learn. They are separate from the approximately 4,000 practice questions.
People say they ran out of time to do enough mocks. How does LexRoute help?
Your study plan works back from your exam date and schedules mocks into the final weeks, so practice is not squeezed out by reading. Your analytics also show your pace per question, so you can fix timing before exam day.
Do the explanations cover the wrong answers too?
Yes. After every question you see why the right option is right and why each of the other four is wrong, so a wrong answer becomes something you learn from.
Can I study alongside a full-time job?
Yes. The course is online and self-paced. Tell the study plan which days and hours you have, and it suggests what to do in each session. Your progress is saved, so you can switch between laptop, tablet and phone.

SQE1 Single FLK Retaker, SQE1 Complete and SQE1 Premium include printed course books, with standard UK delivery included. International delivery is charged separately and shown before checkout. The SQE1 Practice Simulator is online only.
I failed one FLK. Which package should I choose?
Passed one FLK? Don't pay again for the FLK you've already passed. The SQE1 Single FLK Retaker (FLK1 or FLK2 + Ethics & Professional Conduct) focuses on the FLK you still need: its lectures and printed books, a structured study roadmap, flashcards, half of the question bank and 20 timed 85-question mock sessions. It also includes the Ethics and Professional Conduct content for both FLKs. Ethics is not a separate exam: it is assessed within FLK1 and within FLK2, so it matters whichever FLK you are retaking.
Do you guarantee a pass?
No provider can honestly guarantee a pass, and we do not claim to. What SQE1 Premium does offer is a further 9 months of access if you do not pass, when you meet the conditions for the extension.
Is LexRoute connected to the SRA?
No. LexRoute is an independent SQE preparation provider and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
